Trichotillomania (also called Hair Pulling Disorder) is a condition where a person feels an irresistible and compulsive urge to pull out their hair, most often from the scalp, eyebrows, or eyelashes. It affects an estimated 1–2% of the population, with onset often beginning in childhood or adolescence.
Hair loss from trichotillomania can range from small patchy areas to more extensive thinning or baldness. While it is a behavioural condition — not caused by hair or scalp disease — its emotional and psychological impact can be significant.

Bonded Hair Replacement Systems
To keep your wig or topper looking and feeling its best, we offer a monthly maintenance and refit service — a relaxing, salon-style experience tailored for you.
During your appointment:
- Your wig or topper is carefully removed, and the adhesive is cleaned and replaced
- The piece is washed, conditioned, and professionally blow-dried or restyled
- You’ll receive ongoing support throughout, with time to ask questions or request adjustments
Each session lasts around two hours and costs approximately $350 per month, allowing you to refresh your look and enjoy a professional, salon-quality experience in a caring and private environment.
Removable Wigs and Toppers
For clients wearing removable wigs or clip-in toppers, we offer a complete maintenance service — including washing, styling, and cutting — available whenever you need it.
Our experienced hairstylists can also care for your natural hair, providing colouring and cutting services to ensure it blends seamlessly with your topper. All appointments are carried out in our private, welcoming salon spaces, designed to make you feel comfortable and supported throughout your visit.

In February 2021 I was diagnosed with aggressive breast cancer. Having had long hair all my adult life I was very anxious about loosing my hair with the upcoming chemotherapy regime that was planned for me. Fortunately my daughter had researched wigs and had suggested Tammy Lobato wigs in Heidelberg. I’m so glad that she found Tammy Lobato. My initial consult at Tammy’s was sympathetic, respectful reassuring and calming - despite it being a hugely traumatic period in my life. Before I began chemotherapy I was able to show Tammy what my hair was before beginning chemo treatment and I’m so glad I did this. Tammy matched my hair to my human hair wig perfectly! Going through chemo was difficult both physically and mentally and I felt that buying a human hair wig that was tailored for me actually made me feel like ‘me’ when I was feeling so unwell.
